Senior HPE NonStop Developer

Your role is to work on the HPE Nonstop (formerly Tandem) Systems as a Software Developer, designing and developing new functionality to the Insider Technologies product set in C/C++, TAL and COBOL, as well as maintaining our existing code.


  • Development experience on HPE NonStop mainframes.

  • Development of unit and integration test specifications to ensure that software items are thoroughly tested.

  • Software testing to ensure software is fit for purpose.

  • Documentation of software product features. Providing technical authors with information for inclusion in software manuals and online help.

  • Experience with Agile development life cycle.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Aptitude and communication skills to attend meetings to represent the company, e.g. to discuss the detailed design and other technical issues.

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.

  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed.

  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.

  • Guardian, SPI, EMS, Measure, OSS programmatic interfaces, DDL, Enscibe, SQL, SCF, FUP, TEDIT, TS/MP (Pathway), Inspect, TMF, Spoolcom.

  • Understanding of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.

  • Knowledge of Agile working, the experience of SCRUM and test-driven development.

Junior Java Developer

We are at an exciting early stage in the development of a new cloud-based product and we’re looking for a Java Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. The role is ideally suited to a fresh graduate or person having graduating within the last 24 months with previous work experience.


Your role is to develop extensible software for the client base within a small team of developers. Our team strives to continually improve our software, our technology and our working practices so that we can remain at the cutting edge. Even as a new member of the team you will be expected to take part in planning our development each month and have an opportunity to add your ideas into the product. Our agile philosophy means a varied and challenging environment and you can expect to work on all aspects of our software from our web-based client to the database server.


  • A passion for creating great software, and a creative problem solver

  • A degree In computer science or software development

  • A good knowledge of object oriented design and design patterns

  • Experience programming in Java (J2SE)

  • Experience of working with SQL Server and/or Oracle

  • A good grounding in client-server based architecture

About you

  • Experience of Javascript frameworks, Java and C++ alongside knowledge of Vue, Kubernetes and Docker

  • Some knowledge or experience with JEE and web development technologies (Apache/Tomcat, Spring)

  • Experience of working with source control systems (git)

  • Exposure to web-service technology such as REST

  • Exposure to Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development

  • Understanding of Maven oSr other build tools

  • Knowledge of working practices and design methodologies such as Agile and test driven development

  • Experience of Eclipse and/or Visual Studio development environments

  • Exposure to development on multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux)

  • Knowledge of industry standard technologies (XML, HTML) and testing frameworks (JUnit etc)

  • Knowledge of C# and ASP.NET.

The right candidate will have the aptitude to pick the above skills up; it's not essential to have all.
